Urpix
Public participation in urban design, supported by generative tech and immersive visuals.
Urpix builds public support for choices made in urban development by actively involving citizens in participatory design in early stages of project development. Citizens design, within the bounds set by the physical space, municipality and legislation, and can see these with immersive visuals in VR, or on location in their own neighbourhood with AR. Designs are scored on aspects such as health, wellbeing and mobility. In this way, citizens can see directly how their choices influence their environment, and be better informed in the participation process.
Urpix is being developed in collaboration with the Trans-Realities Lab of the Design Academy Eindhoven and Arista Studio, as part of the CIIIC Urban Development challenge.
